With Halloween approaching, most people find themselves with nothing to watch. Hocus Pocus? Seen it. Halloweentown? Meh. Scream? Watched it a billion times already. But, there are a few upcoming horror movies that will make people check under the bed twice before falling asleep.
The first thriller being released will be the sequel of Black Phone, Black Phone 2. Set to release on October 17th, Black Phone 2 is about a 15-year-old girl, Gwen, who has recurring visions about a winter camp. In her visions, three boys are stalked at the camp, causing Gwen to venture out to the camp to uncover the mystery herself. With her sibling, Finn, they reach the campsite, but are confronted by a killer who’s more feared than the Grim Reaper himself, the Grabber.
Next, releasing on the same day as Black Phone 2, is Frankenstein, which is inspired by the book written by Mary Shelley in 1816 & 1817. Frankenstein is a movie about an egotistical, yet ingenious scientist that realizes one of his experiments. As time goes on, the scientist finds that his experiment may lead to both his and its own downfall.
Following Frankenstein is a 28 Days Later sequel. Set to release on January 16th, 2026, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is about a doctor—named Dr. Kelson—who becomes part of a relationship that could very well alter the world as he knows it. Spike (a child in the post-apocalyptic world) finds that his relationship with his newest acquaintance will soon grow inescapable and nightmarish.
Last on the list is a sequel that will be released two years after the initial movie, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 — which will release on December 5th. Set one year later than the first film, the sequel is about the former security guard, Mike, who has successfully kept the fate of the animatronics hidden from his sister, Abby. Abby, sneaks out to reunite with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, but ends up starting a horrifying domino effect, which eventually reveals the true origin of the pizzeria.
