Cross country coming to an end

The Cross Country pride once again comes to an end. In the second week of October, ending on the 11. It is their final time to show off their skills.

Coach Nicole Bradbury always encourages her girls to do their best.

“Hard work and consistency within the girls is really shown daily,” Bradbury said.

With all the work the girls put in, they earn huge awardship and rewards. Coach Bradbury has expectations from her players.

“For athletes to set goals and hold onto those goals and to shoot for those every single day,” Bradbury said.

“We won a home meet at the Danny Westbrook in Bryant,” Bradbury said.

The girls Cross Country team had won two of their meets.

Nichole Swinney, Staffer

Nichole Swinney, 8, is a first-year member of the news team and while she is learning the ropes alongside the other members of the team, she is also still learning to navigate public education. Swinney was homeschooled for much of her childhood, and moved from Bryant to Conway and back and forth every five to six months. “It was horrible, I didn’t like it,” Swinney said. She says that homeschool was a very difficult experience for her due to the lack of socializing. However, after she transferred to public school she made friends, grew academically and found her passion: writing. Late at night, with no one else around, Swinney immerses herself in creative writing. She believes that the quiet and dark atmosphere makes her more calm and focused. The K-drama inspired stories she writes bring her joy and help her to cope with struggles. “I am very proud of my work,” Swinney said. Not only does Swinney write stories, but she will participate in anything creative. Artistry is a huge part of her life. She loves to design and make something from nothing. Swinney wanted to improve her writing so joined the BJHS Media staff where she will not only write, but design and develop broadcast skills.

Cayden Robertson, Editor-in-Chief (The Occurrence)

Cayden Robertson, 8, is on Swarm Productions. Some of the things he enjoys are archery, fishing, playing games, and chess. “I was born August 13, 2009, and I am in 8th grade.” Robertson says. He lives with his mom and dad. He has two brothers, Evan and Gage and a sister, Kailee. ”We get along pretty well, but we don’t really see each other that much.” Robertson said. Robertson initially joined Swarm Production because he knew he would enjoy it so he decided to try it out. He also had some history with being on the school staff. ”I liked being on the Bryant Middle School News so I knew I would like this.” Robertson said. Robertson says he’s most excited about the things they are planning to do further in the year. “I’m excited to start filming and start work in journalism.” Robertson said. Robertson states that he plans to be a hard working student this school year. He has many plans on how to achieve these goals. “My goal for next year is to get good grades. I can study hard and listen to my teachers.” Robertson said.
