As many people get older, they choose to no longer wear Halloween costumes, or even trick-or-treating at all. But for Taylor Parsons that’s not true, she loves to dress up for Halloween with her kids. She even chooses her family’s costumes a month and a half before Halloween.
“We usually order them online, but sometimes they are a DIY project or taking things we already own to make a costume,” Parsons BJHS librarian said.
Buying costumes online is becoming increasingly popular, but many still prefer to make their own. Many like Halloween for the candy but many parents like seeing their kids have fun, and like to dress up in a Halloween costume to feel closer to their kids. But why does Parsons love getting dressed up?
“It makes me feel like a little kid even though I’m not on the door and saying trick-or-treat it brings back memories of being a kid and doing it with my friends and family. I don’t know it, but it makes me feel young again,” Parson said.
