The school dance was Friday September 2o, and students made the decision whether or not to come in theme. The theme for the dance was 80s for eighth graders and 90s for freshman.
According to some of the students from last year, almost everyone followed the theme. However, Abigail Mizell, 8, states that she and many of her friends are probably not coming in theme.
“I don’t have anything that follows the theme, and I don’t want to buy anything,” Mizell said.
Chance Priest, 8, is another student who will attend the dance, and he claims that he will try to go in theme, but he’s not sure if his outfit will match the theme or not.
“If it’s not considered 80s then it’s not a huge deal, but a black suit should fit,” Priest said.
Many eighth grade students are saying that they will probably not go on theme because they aren’t sure if they have any 80s clothes. Students are also claiming that last year more people went on theme than people this year.
One of the issues with this is that the theme last year was blue, white, black and silver, which several 9th graders are saying is an easier theme. However, the main issue with people going on theme is that students don’t want to buy new clothes just for one occasion.
