Mason Reynolds, Reporter/Designer- The Occurrence
Mason Reynolds, freshman, knows exactly what he wants to do. He doesn’t want to be a fiction writer even though he has loved it since third grade.
“I wrote four books in elementary school, all a part of a different series,” Renyolds said, “I haven’t written one since, and I don’t plan on writing another.”
And he doesn’t want to be an astronaut even though he has taken ten online classes for astronomy.
It was Davis Elementary’s Fins Live news production that actually sparked his dream.
Reynolds wanted to be a part of some form of media crew ever since he’d watched the news, but didn’t know what steps to take to get there.
“I was excited when I found out that they had a news team at the junior high,” Reynolds said, “I signed up as soon as I saw it.”
Reynolds tried out to become a part of the BJHS news team, The Occurrence.
Reynolds has been a part of The Occurrence staff for a bit over a year and has now been named one of three coEditors-in-Chief.
“I was nervous at first,” Reynolds said. “But after I wrote my first story, I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.”
