Joleen Roggasch, 8, is welcomed to the staff as a part of The Occurrence. Joleen was born on December 20th, and is 13 years old, she is the managing editor for the staff.
“I am a part of The Occurrence as one of our managing editors,” Roggasch said.
Besides newspaper, she is in color guard and band as a trumpet player. She is also the middle child of two other sisters, Rachel being older and Becca being younger.
“My sister did band so I signed up as well, as for colorguard I wanted to do a sport but i’m not very athletic. My two sisters are also a daily part of my life besides my activities,” Roggash said.
She got her inspiration to join the team from last year, where she was a part of the Bethel yearbook team.
“I had a lot of fun last year on the yearbook team for bethel, so i decided to try out for the media team this year as well,” Roggasch said.
Roggasch wishes to find the truth of her stories, helping our and other communities alike.
“I hope to be a good role model for other students, and guide them when I can, especially for new kids. I wish to find the truth, do the right thing, and help others when I can,” Roggasch states.
She doesn’t often get stressed out, but when she does she takes a step back and makes her bigger goal into smaller ones. She says that as long as her ideal work environment, everyone doing their part, stays intact she will be without much stress.
“When I get stressed out I think about my goal and break it down into smaller, simpler ones I can accomplish easier. I normally don’t get too stressed unless people aren’t doing their part, which they should. My ideal work environment is everyone staying calm, nice, and doing their work,” Roggasch said.
