Alexia Morales, 8, has wanted to be able to be on the media staff because she saw opportunity in it. Last year she was unable to be on the middle school’s yearbook staff, but this year she is the Assistant Producer for Swarm Productions.

While Morales originally aspired to be a writer she loves her new position.

“I really like my position. I was surprised at first because I’m new, but I was nevertheless ecstatic,” Morales, 8, said.

Other than journalism Morales plans to join FCCLA, FBLA, archery and maybe chess club because she doesn’t want to confine herself to one activity, even if others think she is putting a lot on her plate.

Outside of school she takes care of her one year old cat and bakes. She started baking recently because it was something simple to do and it brings her joy when people like her product. She also likes that if she messes up one batch she can make a new one and keep perfecting the craft.
