When talking about sports, some people think of football or volleyball. Some think of eSports.
Esports are sports that are played online like League of Legends. Many esports have championships or tournaments, which test the players’ dedication and skill with the game.
Anyone can join the teams through a try-out process.
“I’m really looking for anyone who loves to game, and is open to putting in effort,” David Moore, esports coach, said.
The school has three different eSports teams: League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers and Rocket League. The teams typically practice on Mondays and Wednesdays.
“The program and groups have grown a lot since we first started,” Moore said.
Last year, the League of Legends team achieved state runner-up. “I want the kids to have a fun time while also representing their school to their best ability.”

I never knew what esports was, but thanks to this article I found out. It’s interesting that there are esports coaches and people who are really invested in esports. Though I got a grasp on what esports is I still don’t really understand it. Maybe next time you could go more in depth on esports and give more details about it.
