We’ve all experienced last minute costume shopping, and often you’re stuck with a lame costume. How about instead of wasting your money, you do a DIY costume?
1. Black Cat
First things first- black clothes. Leggings, a long sleeved shirt, black socks and whatever shoes you’re comfortable in. If you have gloves- great! If you don’t, that’s fine too. Next- the most important part- the ears! A lot of stores–even the dollar store–sell cheap cat ear headbands. So if you don’t already have a cat ear headband, run down to the dollar store and grab a pair for cheap. Next- makeup. Face paint is recommended but if you don’t have any, mix some black eyeshadow with foundation. Then paint whiskers, a nose, black lower lip, and maybe even some eyeshadow. Now you’re a black cat!
2. Wednesday
This one should be pretty self explanatory but just in case- lets explain. Wednesday is a pretty simple costume. First step, hair–do two low pigtails and then braid them. Next, gather clothes. Wednesday is simple, just wear all black. Any nicer black clothes would be good, even just a turtleneck is fine, just make sure it’s black(and white if needed). Makeup is optional, but you can use it to make yourself paler, such as using an eyeshadow under your eyes to make dark circles, and using a darker nude to make your lips darker. And you can also do a smokey eye look- to really give the goth vibe.
3. Doll
Grab some nicer clothes that you have, something that is antique, and dress up. Then do your makeup: pink cheeks, red or pink lipstick, colorful eyeshadow, and a beauty mark if you want. Now just channel your inner creepy doll personality and you are now a doll!
4. Steve from minecraft
Simple, easy, you don’t even have to change anything. Just get a blue T-shirt, brown pants, tennis shoes, then find an object you can carry around that is found in minecraft. You’re done! If you wanna add some extra detail, use some brown eyeshadow on your hands or face for a dirt effect, or you can carry around a backpack to give the adventurer vibe.
5. Pumpkin.
Get an orange, white, or some other color t-shirt that a pumpkin comes in, then get some black tape a tape on a face to the shirt, making it a pumpkin shirt. If you have similar colored pants as your shirt, wear that, if not, black, white, or even brown can work as pants. If you have face paint, then use green to either color your neck green or do green art on your face as the stem. A lot of stores also sell headbands with springs and an object at the end. So you can buy ones with pumpkins on the end.
